We are pleased to announce that Chiel Renique, secretary for VNO-NCW, will open the Science Career next wednesday. His daily tasks include economic policy management, education and innovation. The opening will be at 12.00 but remember to be a little earlier to pick up your badge. If you entered the entrepreneur test competition, make sure to attend the central opening. If you win, you can pick up your 100 euro price right away!

The Stichting Bètabanenmarkt is not just responsible for organising the Science Career Event. We aim to connect students and employers, during and after university. The university study programs offer the possibility to do an internship with a science related company.

It is also possible to advertise your internships, whether they have a concrete description or not, in the projector slide show on march 10th. This service is free of charge!

Reasons to participate in the Science Career Event

 

  • SCE attracts students that normally would not visit this type of events, because the SCE is located in one of the University Science buildings and admission for students is free.
  • The Leiden faculty of Science is located on the Bio Science Park, the best business park 2009 in the Netherlands, and the Science Career Event has close connections to BSP.
  • The bachelor courses Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Computer Science and Mathematics were awarded the highest score in the annual Elsevier student survey.
  • Physics, Astronomy and Mathematics were awarded the highest scores by faculty members in the Elsevier survey.
  • Life Science & Technology and Molecular Science & Technology are unique due to the cooperation between the Univerty Leiden and Delft University of Technology.
  • The cooperation with LUMC (Leids Universitair Medisch Centrum)
  • Leiden is located in the centre of the Randstad.
  • The SCE information booklet will reach 2000 students.
