1 in the Netherlands (Milliman Insurance and Financial Risk). 80 offices worldwide
Milliman is one of the world’s largest independent actuarial and consulting firms. Founded in 1947, Milliman has more than 4,500 consultants and offices in major cities around the globe. The offices of Milliman Insurance & Financial Risk Benelux in Amsterdam, Brussels and Luxembourg form one practice and consist of around 50 consultants.
At Milliman we deal with all quantitative aspects that insurers have to deal with. We do projects in the field of advanced analytics, quantitative finance and actuarial sciences, and are regularly involved in M&A programs for insurers. In addition to insurers, our clients also include banks, private equity firms, government agencies, healthcare institutions and non-profit organizations.
We offer you a challenging and substantive job with responsibility from day one. Furthermore, at Milliman you get a lot of freedom to create your own development path. It is very common for juniors to follow a relevant post-mater in addition to their work as a consultant, and after a few years of work experience a secondment to one of our foreign offices is also possible.
In short, working for Milliman means the following:
- Talented and motivated colleagues who are always willing to help you;
- A flexible working environment, you manage your own agenda;
- The freedom to shape your own professional development.
The culture within Milliman can be described as knowledge and result driven. We are continuously looking for new challenges in various quantitative fields. Examples of analytics related projects are Outlier Detection, Email classification, Recommender systems and Pricing. One day you might be assisting our clients developing a new predictive model or performing an NLP project, the next day you might advise one of our clients on implementing a new risk model. We offer a dynamic working environment with responsibility from the start! You will be working directly with the principals and seniors of the Amsterdam office on projects as well with other colleagues in Benelux.
We are always looking for candidates with a passion for quantitative subjects, who want to help achieve our growth ambitions. Milliman consultants distinguish themselves by their expertise, drive and entrepreneurship. We are looking for excellent students with a strong quantitative background (For example Business Analytics, Computer Science, Econometrics, Information Technology or similar) and well developed social skills. We offer interesting projects, the possibility to work abroad and possibilities to follow education, for example postmasters in Data Analytics, CFA or FRM.
We offer starter positions as well as thesis internships for master students.
